Juanita (Patrick) Eubanks, age 92, ended life’s journey peacefully on June 9, 2017. She is survived by sons William Hunter Eubanks III, MD (Becky) of Tampa, Florida and Kenneth Brian Eubanks of Tampa, Florida; daughter Dianne Eubanks Hyland (Chris) of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren Amanda Eubanks Sefcik, DVM (Bryan) of Langley, British Columbia, Canada and Barrett Hunter Eubanks, MD, of Orlando, Florida; and two great grandchildren, Caroline Anne Sefcik, and Charlotte Allison Sefcik, both of Langley, British Columbia, Canada. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 67 years, William Hunter Eubanks, Jr., and by her parents, Claude and Vernice Patrick.
Juanita was born in Alabama but moved to Columbus, Mississippi during her high school years where she met and married the love of her life, Hunter. They later moved to Starkville, Mississippi, raised their children and were embraced by the Mississippi State community for 40 years. As frequently as they could, they spent time in Gulf Shores, Alabama - one of her favorite places on earth. In 1997 they moved to Tampa, Florida to be near family.
Juanita was extremely loving and dedicated to her family. Her granddaughter, Amanda Sefcik, once wrote a poem dedicated to her which aptly describes her: “You love so fully, give of yourself so unselfishly. You care so tenderly, hug so tightly. You help those who are hurting, nurture those who need you. You define wonderful, embody grace and elegance. You are kind and gentle, teach so thoroughly. Everything you have been, everything you are, everything you will be leaves a sweet impression on those who know you. You love and are loved.” She was a talented seamstress, home decorator, cook, and entertainer and had a true joy for life, friends and family.
In lieu of Flowers, choose to spend quality time with your family, as that would be her fondest wish. Donations in her name may be made to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held at Gunter and Peel Funeral Home in Columbus, Mississippi after which she will be interred in the Eubanks family plot in Friendship Cemetery. In the short time that I knew her I can tell she was a very kind and loving person. I met her at Angels. She had a smile that would light up a room and she would always wave at me from across the room. I'm sorry for your loss, but I look forward to seeing her one day in Heaven. May you find peace at this time.

Dear Dianne and Family:
I will always remember the picture you have on your desk Dianne of your Mom and Dad. She looks like a movie star in it and a very caring happy to live life to the fullest person. I see she accomplished what she wanted in life and her family was very important to her. I wish I would have had an opportunity to meet her. My thoughts are with you and yours.
I know she is smiling right now and very happy to be with her true love again.
Love,
Arlene
