Josephine Margiotta "Mae" Mary Volion entered peacefully into heaven on Friday, June 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Daniel "Don" Volion of 62 years. Loving mother of Danny Joseph Volion (Holly) and the late Mary Donna Volion Sampey. A proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Lena Baldassaro Margiotta and Frank Margiotta. Sister of Mamie Kass, Frankie Margiotta, Jake Margiotta, and preceded in death by Octavia Margiotta. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Age 80, a native of Algiers, Louisiana and a resident of Lafitte, Louisiana for the past 30 years. "Mae" was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, playing cards, camping trips with the family, baseball games for her grandchildren and mostly spending time with family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
Visitation from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment following in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
