Stuart K. Hammond passed unexpectedly on April 30th at the age of 54. Stuart was a caring and determined man with an impressive imagination and a knack for storytelling. He was raised in Northbrook, IL by Richard and Marianne Hammond. He went on to lead an active adulthood as a member of a variety of NSSRA sports teams from bowling to golf and medaled in the 2005 Special Olympics in Nagano, Japan for cross country skiing. Stuart was an avid traveler; he had a strong curiosity for other cultures and enjoyed traveling the world with his family. Stuart's other passions included hunting, fishing, and spending summer nights up north in Elcho, Wisconsin. He is survived by siblings Donald Hammond (Amy) and Joanne Baker (Robert), nephews Rick Hammond and Doug Baker and nieces Lauren Hammond (Paul Martin) and Kim Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Marianne Hammond. He was loved and will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Friday, June 16, at The Winnetka Congregational Church, 725 Pine St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to NSSRA Foundation 3105 MacArthur Blvd., Northbrook, IL 60062.
