Herman J. Hertenlehner, age 94, from Lancaster, OH passed away on Saturday, June 10-2017
at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was born on November 12-1922 to the late Katie and Joseph Hertenlehner of
Sugar Grove, OH.
Herman attended Berne Union High School. In 1942, he married Susan Jackson from
Sugar Grove, OH and they were happily married for 53 years and had two children-
Sue (Christy) Hertenlehner and Tom Hertenlehner.

In Herman's early days he held occupations as a Farmer, a Berne Union School District
Bus Driver, owned and operated his own Trucking Company and retired from Essex Company after 35 years as an expert Machinist.

Herman was recognized as a hard-worker and he loved to work with his hands, enjoyed inventing, engineering and building things and he enjoyed working outdoors including planting an annual vegetable garden, mowing the lawn and planting flowers.
Herman was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Neighbor and he was generous with his time and skills and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
He built his home in 1948 and lived out his entire life in his home until passing.
He was very honest, outspoken and reliable. He was fiercely independent and actively
drove himself and others in his meticulously cared for car and had planted flowers and mowed his lawn the day prior to his passing.

Herman is very loved and greatly missed by his survivors-
his daughter-Sue (Hertenlehner) Christy,
his Son and Daughter-in-Law-Tom Hertenlehner and Cathy (Green) Hertenlehner,
Grandchildren- Tad Christy, Larry Hertenlehner, Laura Hertenlehner(deceased), Tamara Christy, Tina (Hertenlehner) Hutchison and husband Lance Hutchinson,
and Eight great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his Wife, Parents, Brother, Nephew and Grand-Daughter.
A celebration of his life and Funeral Services will be officiated by Rev. John Davidson and held
at the HALTEMAN-FETT & DYER FUNERAL HOME, 436 N. Broad St. Lancaster, OH 43130
Friends and Family may pay their respects: Thursday, June 15-2017 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 16-2017 from 10-11 a.m. and Funeral Service is Friday, June 16-2017 at 11 a.m.
and Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge, OH

In Lieu of flowers, the Family asks that Memorial gifts in the form of a donation be given to- Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1400 Concordia Dr. Lancaster, OH 43130
