Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2017.

A.W. "Buster" Jones, 89, of Lubbock passed away June 11, 2017. He was born in Velvet Ridge, Arkansas to Edgar and Gertrude Jones. Buster married the love of his life, Wanda Robinson, on December 17, 1949, and was a devoted and faithful husband. Together, they raised three children; two daughters and a son.

Buster retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1982, where he was in Management. He was an incredibly talented artist and musician, and had a passion for teaching aspiring students. He never tired of performing, especially for a worthy cause. He believed in the Cowboy Code of Ethics, and was a man of great integrity, selflessness, and love.

Buster served many years on the Board of Directors of the Cowboy Symposium, belonged to the Lubbock Art Association, and performed with the Barber Shoppers for several years.

Buster was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Jones Davidson, and his great-grandson Nathan Foxworth.

Left to continue his legacy is his wife, Wanda, of Lubbock; son, Buddy Jones and wife, Donna of Graham; and daughter Bev Halbert and husband, Bill of Lubbock. Buster adored his six grandchildren: Brad Jones, Heather (Chad) Reynolds, Brian (Amanda) Halbert; Lindsey (Dan) Betsill, Stephanie Foxworth and Shawn Foxworth, as well as, his 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday June 14, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Aunt Wanda and family I am so sorry to hear of Buster's passing. I have the fondest memories of both of you in my life growing up. Mom loved you both so much. The times we all went on vacations together. These memories will always keep a smile in my heart and the absolute respect I have for you both. I have been so blessed to have you as my family. You will be thought of often as you go through this time of loss.
