Nell died June 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1921 in Tishomingo Co. Ms. to the late Fred and Elizabeth Rast. She was a long time member of East Corinth Baptist Church, where she served as sectary for the Joy Sunday School Class. She was a retired garment factory worker, she enjoyed cooking, fishing and making quilts, for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leeroy South; second husband, Paul Heavner; son, Jimmy Lee South; granddaughter, Kimberly Allen; parents; sisters, Shirley Voyles, Doris Burchfield; brother, Johnny Rast.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Morton, Brenda Wood; son, Jerry South; sister, Dimple Caldwell; grandchildren Chris South, Johnny South, Jerry South II, Angie Bell, Brooke Bell, Karen Fett, Lisa Anderson, Amanda Caldwell, Kristen Benetiz, Candi Grimes; great grandchildren Taylor Poindexter, Payton Tomlinson, Jaycee Pace Tomlinson, Hannah South, Nick South, Caroline South, Lola South, Alexander Allen, Jamison Allen, Ethan South, Brayden South, Brysen South, Morgan Burkeens, Shea Fett; Host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers Chris South, John South, Jerry South II, Joe Caldwell, Landon Ashe, Mark Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers Dr. George Cain, Dr. John Prather, Dr. John Foropoulos, , Dr. Thomas Sweat, Ronnie Smith, Johnny Jones, Norman Borden and the Joy Sunday School Class.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 to service time.

John and I are so sorry for your loss! I've been to Nell's house many times with my Mother-in Shirly and husband John I loved her very much may she rest in peace!
