Ronald Randl (Ronny) Doughty, 67, of Temple, Texas passed away June 13th, 2017 in Temple. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Temple Texas. Memorial service will be held on 11:00am Saturday, June 17. Pastor Rodney Tedford, will be officiating.
Ronny was born October 3, 1949 at Scott & White hospital in Temple, to Donald Doughty and Winona Pyburn Doughty. He graduated from Tempe High School in 1969. Attended Southern Methodist University and later received an Associate degree from Temple College. He worked for 2 years as a police officer for the City of Temple. Following in the footsteps of his Dad, he decided firefighting was his calling. He served from 1972 to 1997 in the Temple Fire Department retiring as Captain. On his days off from the fire department, he worked in masonry, auto body and mechanic work.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Don and Winona. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth Harris Doughty of 32 years;
5 sons: Randy Doughty, Jeremy McNiel, Jason McNiel, Robert Goodman, and James "Roni" Wright; 15 grandchildren: Deandre, Armani, Alexis, Ajah, Amya, J.J, Quasir, Akerra, Jayden, Aubrey, Jordan, Brittney, Jaylen, Adraya, Aspen; Brother Larry Doughty, of Temple and his wife Carey; nephew Matthew and niece Natalie and great niece Tori. Ronnie was a loving husband, father, a great Paw Paw, brother and friend to many. A truly good man. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Ronny was my Captain at Station 5 when I was a just a rookie Fireman with Temple Fire. He was truly a great influence on me, and I learned a lot from him. God rest him, and my sincere condolences are with the Doughty family.
