Morris D. Bumgarner Sr. 89, born to Cecil and Polly Bumgarner on January 10, 1928 in Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2017, with his family by his side. Morris was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary after 63 years of marriage. Morris is survived by his children, Stephanie Brassovan of The Woodlands, TX, Mary (Mel) McCalister of Littleton, CO and Bud (Pam) Bumgarner of Parker, CO; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brother Bill Bumgarner, 2 nephews and 2 nieces. Morris celebrated his faith and was a long time member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the Goldenaires choir. Morris retired after a rewarding career in the oil and gas business. His hobbies included family visits, model railroading, and relaxing with a good book or watching one of his favorite classic movies.
Visitation will be at the American Heritage Funeral Home Tuesday, June 27, from 8:30-10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held immediately after at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow with escort by the Patriot Guard Riders to the Houston National Cemetery.
