Delores Irene Rankins Land, 88, of Aberdeen, Ohio died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Ohio Valley Manor in Ripley, Ohio. Ms. Land was retired from Piper Aircraft in Vero Beach, Florida and was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Ohio. She was born in South Webster, Ohio on January 31, 1929 the daughter of the late Edward and Mayme Alice McCleese Rankins. Survivors include her two sons, William J. Asbury (Vicki) of Aberdeen, OH and John R. Asbury of Arlington, IN; her two daughters, Victoria Johnson (Richard) of New Palenstine, IN and Cynthia Hayes (Jimmy) of Vero Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Kelly Jo Asbury, Kimberly Lynn Marcum, Michael Allen Flaugher, Sara Elizabeth Asbury and Andrew Curtis Asbury; six great grandchildren, Gage Marcum, Haden Marcum, Nathan Wesley Asbury, Breelyn Flaugher, Macalyn Flaugher and Caitlin Hayes; one great great-grandchild, Gavin E. Marcum; one brother, Jack Rankins of Flemingsburg, KY; one sister, Wanda Rigdon of Vanceburg, KY and her former daughter-in-law, Teresa Asbury of Rushville, IN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Thomas Michael Asbury; four brothers, Hubert Rankins, Edward Rankins, Jr, Robert Rankins and Michael Rankins; three sisters, Alma Griffitt, Marie Poole and Betty Itak. Funeral services for Delores Land will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 with Pastor Don Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Esham Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service. Memorials may be made to the Riverview Baptist Church, 1810 Vista Drive, Aberdeen, OH 45101.
