James D. Pruismann, 77, of Bondurant, IA, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 19, 2017, at Altoona Christian Church (2890 1st Avenue S. Altoona, IA 50009). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed towards the Altoona Christian Church or the Ankeny YMCA Cardiac Rehab.
James Dean Pruismann was born September 24, 1939, to Andrew and Leona (Greenfield) Pruismann in Blairsburg, IA. Jim was united in marriage to Joyce Kramer on June 6, 1958, in Blairsburg. They relocated to Bondurant in 1969, where he worked and then co-owned the Union 76 Truck Stop in later years. Jim also served part-time for the Bondurant, Altoona and Mitchellville police departments. Following that he worked at LabCorp for three years until he suffered from an illness that caused him to retire early
Jim was a faithful member of Altoona Christian Church. He enjoyed biking at the YMCA, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, Jim treasured time spent with Joyce, his children, and attending events for his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce; sons: Randy (Patti) Pruismann of Bondurant, Rod (Cindy Richardson) Pruismann of Bondurant and Richard Pruismann of Bondurant; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Pruismann of Altoona; and five grandchildren: Ryne, Andrew, Ryley, James, Shannon Pruismann, and Alicha Pruismann. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Pruismann; sister, Marge; brother, Willis; and daughter-in-law, Katharine Pruismann
