Mayolyn L. (Winter) (Smith) Arsenault, 94 of Swanzey, NH formerly of Vernon, VT passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Spofford, NH on November 21, 1922; the daughter of the late Herman F. and Mayolyn (Farnham) Winter.
She was educated in the area school system. Mrs. Arsenault married the late Norman H. Smith, Sr. on Dec. 27, 1938; together they had seven children. After Norman's death in 1957, Mayolyn continued to raise her children by herself, until she met and married Arthur J. Arsenault in 1965. He passed away in 1994. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, doing puzzles, music, playing cards, embroidering, and enjoyed flowers an plants. Mayolyn will be best remembered by her family as a wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend.
She is predeceased by three sons, Norman, Richard and Paul Smith; five brothers, Herman, Robert, Cleon, Harold and Roswell Winter; two step siblings, Carroll Foley and Bernice Moffett; and two daughter-in-law's, Brenda K. Smith and Raylene Smith.
She is survived by a son, Herbert Smith, Sr. of Swanzey, NH; three daughters, Mary Perusse and her husband Robert of W. Brattleboro, VT, Nancy Perusse also of W. Brattleboro, and Norma Struthers and her husband Clarence of Vernon, VT; a sister, Ruth Perkins of Dummerston, VT; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
An hour of Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High St., Brattleboro, VT. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Tyler Cemetery in Vernon, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rescue, Inc., 541 Canal St, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
