Rena Dewitt Harmon Guerin died peacefully in her sleep the morning of June 16, 2017. She was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky November 2, 1924 and lived in Perryville, Kentucky as a child. She was Valedictorian of her high school class there in 1942. She attended Morehead State Teachers College and graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1945 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Leo John Guerin in Washington, DC February 23, 1947. They resided in Louisville, Kentucky before moving to Florida in 1990. They were long time members of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville and Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater. She was a long time member of North Dunedin Baptist Church at her death. Rena taught school in Jefferson County Kentucky and retired after 25 years. She is survived by her daughter Linda and her husband Dennis Werner, her son Leo John Guerin, Jr. and his wife Carole, 4 grandchildren Christopher, David, and Julie Werner (Caldwell), and Craig Collins Guerin, two great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Brody Werner. Her husband of 52 years, Leo John Guerin and grandson Leo John Guerin, III preceded her in death and she will be buried with them. Services will be held at Sylvan Abbey Methodist Church June 21, 2017 at 11:00am. Viewing will begin at 10:00AM.
