I was lucky enough to learn from and share with both Maymie and Nancy my photographs and history of this part of Guilford and Randolph counties. It was a true pleasure to listen to Maymie talk about her knowledge of the history of the schools around here, both long gone and still here. She was a treasure of information and a great historian. I will surely miss her and her wisdom. Cookie Holt

Charlie, Winfield, and families - I was sad to hear that our dear "Mama Causey" had left us. She was about the kindest person I ever knew. I loved her dearly, and will never forget her. I have so many good memories of her that will stay with me for life. God bless you all.

Charlie, Winfield & families,
Bill and I got to know all of you while taking flying lessons at Causey Airport. Maymie was getting out of an airplane with Benson while we were there and we talked awhile. She told me she had never learned to fly. She had been to see some of the family that warm summer day. She was a nice person and I have always admired her. She will be missed a lot and I am sure you children will think of her from time to time. She will be going to a great place and join Benson one day. Bill and I thought the world of them and I know a lot of people did especially her children she taught in school. Lots of love and prayers go out to the family from us and condolences. We will always remember her and her loving care for you children and grandchildren.

Ms. Causey was my 3rd grade teacher at Nathanael Greene. Don't believe she ever forgot a student she taught. She could be stern, but she could also laugh with the kids. She was a good teacher and a good person. Not too many like her around to teach our children these days. She will be missed
