AUBURN - Alice Stebbins, 86, a resident of Auburn, passed away on Thursday night, June 15, at Clover Manor. She was born June 27, 1930, in Auburn, the daughter of Irma B. and Leslie M. Davis. She was a 1948 graduate of Edward Little High School. Alice worked at Eddie's Diner in Auburn, Goodwin's Dairy Shops in Auburn, the Steer House Restaurant in Lewiston, the Auburn School lunch program, Ted's Supermarket, and at Peoples Heritage Bank. In retirement, she worked 15 years at Kmart, winning an award for being one of Kmart's oldest employees at the age of 84. On September 14, 1956, she married Norman Joseph Stebbins. They raised their four children in their home of 52 years on North River Road. Alice's kitchen table was filled with friends and family who came just to chat, be listened to, or to get their butt kicked in cribbage. She was a person who had no enemies, and she loved her friends without expectation. Loving to family, kind to people and caring to animals, pets and wild, she navigated life with a grace for all to see.She was a devoted wife, and is survived by her husband of 61 years, Norman; her sons, Greg Stebbins and his wife, Paulette, of Rocklin, Calif., Randy Stebbins and his wife, Deborah "Debbie," of New Gloucester, Mark Stebbins and his wife, Michelle "Mikie," of Poland and by her daughter, Terry Lacasse and husband, Randy, of Haymarket, Va.; grandchildren, Monica Judd Campbell, Angela Judd Newcomb, Jessica Bina, Karyn Lam, Lori Stebbins, Kelley Stebbins, Rileigh Stebbins, Sydney Stebbins, Stephanie Lacasse and Cooper Lacasse; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Vining, Ashley Campbell, Caleb Newcomb, Ella Lam, Easton Lam, Elliott Lam, and Rowan Bina. She was predeceased by her father and mother; her stepmother, Violet Davis; her brother, Walter Davis; and her grandson, Jason Gregory Stebbins.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Fortin Group/ Plummer Merrill Funeral Home in Auburn. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at North Auburn Cemetery in Auburn at 2:00 PM.
