Mrs. Joyce Gaddy Jordan, age 87, of Whitesburg, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017. She was born September 22, 1929 in Thomasville, Georgia. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, and was an outstanding cook. She enjoyed figurine painting, sewing, gardening, traveling and loved driving. Joyce loved her church and was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she was in the “Joy” Sunday School class. She loved her Shih Tzus, Ko-Ko and Penny, who passed away three years ago.
Mrs. Jordan is preceded in death by her husband, George Marvin Jordan; her parents, Chan Gaddy and Margaret Stephens; son, James Marvin Jordan, Sr.; brother, C. H. Gaddy; and grandson, James Marvin Jordan, Jr.
She is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann J.A. Jordan; son, George Melvin (Carol) Jordan; sister, Betty (Bud) Harmon; grandchildren, Jeremy Morris Jordan, Carie Leigh Jordan-Hopkins, Lanier Alexander Mountz, Sonya (Keith) Rogers, and Myra (Ash) Baucum; great-grandchildren, Jayden Jordan, Jaylynn Jordan, Jayleigh Jordan, Edith Leigh Hopkins, Jesse Hopkins Sydney Hopkins, Joseph Rogers, Justin Rogers, Starr-Hanna Baucum, and Drusilla Baucum; and daughter-in-law, Linda Morris Jordan.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Central Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Tucker and Reverend Ron Whelan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to help with the funeral costs and expenses to the Joyce G Jordan Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank.
