Ruth was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met. Such a blessing to everyone that she met. She will be missed here on earth, but will be a blessing in heaven.

Ruth was always such a caring, loving lady! She seemed happiest when she could wait on someone and take care of them. She was loved dearly by all and will be greatly missed. Prayers and love to all the family!

My sincere condolences to the family... I met this beautiful lady at 2 events, and what a sweet soul she is... May you all find comfort in the gift of memory.

Aunt Ruth was truly a woman of God as she reflected Christ's character in her everyday life. I will miss her biscuit-making classes, mischievous sparkle (and good-natured trash talk) when playing cornhole, her sweet hugs, and above all, her way of letting everyone know we are so loved. I love you, Aunt Ruth.

Ruth's spirit and nature was so loving and caring. She and my mother became friends very quickly at the Dorchester Retirement Community. They shared food, the newspaper and stories about the good ole days. We will miss, Ruth, and pray for God to strengthen the family during this time of sadness.

Chris and I are so sorry to hear of Miss Ruth's passing. She always told us to call her "Mamaw" and made us feel like part of her family. Our fondest memories of her are of playing dominoes with her and laughing as she would try to cheat. It was always harmless and we were all in on the joke. Chris and I got to stay overnight with her in Louisville one year on our way back from Colorado. She had laid out quite a spread both for dinner and breakfast the next morning! I was always so amazed at her stamina and hope I'll be as energetic as she was at her age. Our sympathies to the Scarborough/Chesser family. We will miss Mamaw.
