Fred Cleve Paul was born in Weatherford, Texas on October 19, 1923. He grew up in Brownwood, Texas, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Billie Griffin in 1945. He served in the Navy during World War II as a torpedoman, and when he returned home, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 43 years.
Fred was preceded in death by his son, Randy, in 1992, his wife of 63 years, Billie, in 2008, and his second wife of 5 years, Bernice, in 2015. He is survived by his daughters, Patti Allen and Cindy Thomas, their husbands, Sam Allen and Kenny Thomas, stepsons Robert, Richard and Charles Porter, his six grandchildren, Marcy Norman, Matt Allen, Michael Paul, Josh Thomas, Kacey Bell, and Emily Edelhauser, as well as 14 great grandchildren, a cousin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Indian Hills Baptist Church and/or to Heart to Heart Hospice of Fort Worth, Texas.
