Frances Gantt
COLUMBIA- Frances Elaine Huckabee Gantt, of Columbia, died Monday, June 26, 2017. Frances was born on March 11, 1942 and was the daughter of the late Mendel Henry Huckabee and Myrtle Adelle Sharpe Huckabee, of West Columbia. She was also the wife of James “Jim” Casey Gantt, her husband of 57 years.
Frances worked for over 20 years in administration for the University of South Carolina. She was also both a loving mother and homemaker. She had a passion for gardening and roses were her favorite to grow. She is survived by her husband and her 3 children; Henry Guy Gantt of Cayce, S.C., Sharon Elaine Gantt Mallard of Lexington, S.C., and James “Jason” Casey Gantt II, of Johns Island, S.C., as well as her 5 grandchildren: Chelsea and Madison Gantt, Alexander Mallard, and Holden and Oliver Gantt.
Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, 3926 Devine Street, Columbia, S.C., on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
