Roy A. Burke passed away on June 27, 2017 at the age of 99. A native of New Orleans, La, he spent the last 27 years on the beach in Ocean Springs, Ms. He was an avid fisherman and an enthusiastic cook, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Olga Johnson Burke, and brothers, William and Ralph Burke. He is survived by his son, Wayne Burke (Donna), granddaughters, Keri Anne Nettles and Jenelle Marie Rametta (Anthony), and great-grandchildren, Ally Iachino, Levi and Blaise Nettles, and Ari Rametta.
The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Roy’s name in lieu of flowers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans, La on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. To view and sign the guestbook, please visit www.lakelawnmetairie.com.
