Robert "Bob" Gene Dennis, 82, former resident of Plevna, Kansas, passed away June 28, 2017 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born January 9, 1935 in Plevna, KS to Fay and Lois [Austin] Dennis. On May 1, 1955, Bob was married to the love of his life, Patricia Ann Nusser, and together they raised their two children, Steve and Sandra. Throughout his life, Bob worked as a school teacher first in Overland Park Kansas then in Hutchison, KS from 1966 until the late 1980s; he started in Woodworking, which was his favorite, then went on to teach Industrial Arts, Drafting and English. Bob was a huge sports fan; he played basketball during his high school years and enjoyed golfing for many years. His passion, however, was in woodworking as he had his own workshop at their farm home in Kansas. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Lois; and his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Dennis on February 8, 2007. He is survived by his son Steve (Marcia) Dennis; daughter, Sandra Zolman; and his grandchildren, Jason Dennis, Austin (Madison) Zolman and Lauren (James) McMullan. A memorial service will be held, Monday at 3:00pm, July 3, 2017 at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd, Mesa AZ 85206. Arrangements entrusted to Mariposa gardens (480) 830-4422
