Friend

Don Dsly

Don was a dear friend, I moved to Metairie in 1971. I was good friends with his brother Jerry. Don took me under his wing and for over 3 years we were inseparable. He taught me how to eat crawfish and introduced me to La food. We traveled back to Cape Cod in our white southern suits. He was always there for me and we kept up over the years. God speed to you my friend I will never forget you.

I enjoyed talking to you at the New Orleans Athletic Club. I still have the note pad you gave me with the cute little animals on them. I'll miss you Don.

It would take volumes to record the wonderful memories Jerry and I shared with Don and Kewpie and the Boquets. We spent countless hours together enjoying the good life we had been given. I am thankful to have known Don and the light he brought into our lives. I will miss him very much.

Don was like a father to me - I always referred to him as my step dad. He walked me down the aisle and my children called him Paw-Paw. Don was a huge influence in my life, as well as in the lives of all our family members. I will always remember and miss his gourmet dinners, his New Year's Day parties and his crawfish boils. Family holiday celebrations won't be the same without him. (I will miss the Christmas pants!) Whenever I would ask him if he needed anything, he would always say, Just your love and affection. You have that, Don. It's not the blood, but the heart that makes us family.
