Mr. Herbert Samuel Curry, age 80 of Rex, GA passed away July 11, 2017. Bert was born in Greenville, SC the son of the late Mary Johnston Curry and Roscoe Cecil Curry. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Curry.
Mr. Curry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, NASCAR, football, camping, airplanes, restoring cars and visiting historical sites. He served his country in the US Navy and was a past member of the Mauldin Jaycees in Mauldin, SC and a life member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Greenville, SC.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jan Curry of Rex, GA; daughters, Robin Fitzgerald of Locust Grove, Dawn Mueller (Richard) of Statham, and Lisa Lauderback (Kevin) of McDonough; grandchildren, Kyle Mueller, Taylor Fitzgerald, Chelsea Fitzgerald, Shelby Hiett, and Savannah Parr; and 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Curry will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 – 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
