WAGUESPACK
The Honorable Raymond “Ray” Waguespack, Constable for the 5th Justice Court of Jefferson Parish, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the age of 56. Ray was the beloved husband of Jeanne Hoffmann Waguespack and loving father of Victoria Leigh Waguespack and Benjamin Gerard Waguespack. He is survived by siblings Laurie W. Hill (Jim), Jeffery T. Waguespack (Jackie), and Randall Waguespack. Also survived by a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ray was preceded in death by his father William J. Waguespack III, mother June Frischhertz Waguespack and brother William J. Waguespack IV. Ray was a dedicated public servant, serving as Constable for the 5th Justice Court of Jefferson Parish since 2014, a two-term member of the Jefferson Parish Republican Executive Committee and was serving his first term as a member of the Republican State Central Committee. He was a business executive with the world’s largest global transportation and logistics company, UPS, for 24 years prior to retiring. He was a graduate of Loyola University and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources. From 1978-1991, Ray, aka RayMeaux, spent time as a DJ at WNOE AM and FM, WTIX, and WLTS. His care and concern for his fellow man extended beyond the political sphere, as evidenced by his role as an American Red Cross Logistic Action Team Coordinator, NOLA SHRM Board Member, Leadership Jefferson Alumni Member, former President of the New Orleans Air Cargo Association, former Board Member of Junior Achievement and a member of the Knights of Columbus 3411, PKG. Ray was also an active parishioner of St. Benilde Parish.
