Patsy Ruth (Dossey) Dixon was born on August 15, 1934, to Thomas and Wilma Dossey, in Peoria, Texas, the eldest of three daughters.
The family will receive friends from six until eight o’clock Tuesday evening at J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Ten o’clock Wednesday July 19, 2017 in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
She attended schools in Peoria, and Hillsboro, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1951, a year early. After graduation, she went to work for AT&T in Dallas. She created a very successful career with them, until her retirement in 1990.
Soon after she moved to Dallas, she met and fell in love with Raymond Dixon. They were married on August 12, 1955, in Dallas, where they made their home. They were married for 59 years, until Raymond’s death in November 2014. They moved from Dallas to Plano, and then Grapevine, as their careers changed locations. Their only child, Derrell, was born in Dallas, in 1960.
Patsy and Raymond enjoyed their life together, traveling and vacationing often. They maintained many close friendships, and spent much of their time with family. They thoroughly enjoyed the role of being grandparents to three grandsons, and Patsy, a great grandparent to two boys.
Patsy is survived by her son, Derrell, and his wife, Davalyn; their three boys, Dylan, and his wife, Isabeau, and their two sons, Kaden, and Lincoln; Duncan, and Dawson. She is also survived by her two sisters; Betty, and her son, Carl; Linda, and her husband, Terry, and their daughters, Kim and Tanya.
Any donations on her behalf can be made to The American Cancer Society.
