I so enjoyed meeting Bill in Pingree Park many years ago on a nature program with Road Scholar. He travelled everywhere with that organization and a few years later we had a wonderful time on a trip to KY. He was a marvelous photographer and happily shared his tight close ups of flowers, landscapes of favorite places and fishing trips which he so loved. I always appreciated his warmth, his interest in the world and the people around him, and his deep affection for his family. My condolences to them all. I'll miss Bill and be sorry his illness prevented our seeing each other again.

My sympathy to William Simpson's family. I had the privilege of his friendship in our high school years and again early in this century. He was a great guy.

We will miss Bill as a great neighbor. I would see him mornings out walking (like clockwork, when he wasn't gone on a trip somewhere). He would always wave and smile, and stop to visit. May the trout be bigger and better for you to have fun catching where you are now!
