David....you weren't supposed to go...I know this...your sisters know this...your nieces, nephews and all family know this....your friends know this to.....but there was nothing we could do!! We are all at a loss! Grasping at straws...trying to find meaning....a reason.....I keep imagining you are still here...on earth with us...this doesn't make sense!!! I feel empty :( I see your last texts to me...I screen shot them and saved them...like a special keepsake you tuck away in a box...to hold onto so that my memories never fade......never discolor as the time slips away......just like a song....trips a memory of a day......when as friends we could visit......thinking it would always be that way.....WHY?! WHY?! I keep asking God Why?!!!
I will never know...until it's my turn to go....when I see you there....love you . Miss you. I'm so sorry you had to go. I still can't believe it......my heart forever breaks.
Sharon, Sandra & Susan, Bob...and Grace & Wendy, India & Zion, JC & Robbie, Mike, Andy & Nicky, Brenda & Joy...and all other Young Family, close & extended ...my deepest condolences...as I know Dave was so special in each and every one of your lives, as you were to him.......such a great loss....he will be missed :(

I'm back and I'm sure I will be again. My first note never showed up. I still can't believe I'm writing this. I love you so much Uncle David. So so much!!! You were and are the coolest uncle ever!! I wish we had one more beach trip, one more fire. I wish we got to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre one more time. All the stories you told me from when I was little, all the memories. All the times we'd make eye contact and roll our eyes ;) A little girl in the 80's listening to MTV & Headbangers Ball with you in your basement...the soundtrack of my childhood summers @ Grandma & Grandpas. The mask. All of it. It will never be the same. I love you and you will live on forever in my mind while I'm rockin'out. xoxo

David, what can I say? My very first friend, boyfriend, friend to the end....my cedar tree branch sitting, and no I won't say anything about our Barbie doll playing, cement alley bicycle riding ....Do you want to play a game of H.O.R.S.E? ~Why of course! Out at the basketball hoop between the houses in the shade, in the heat of a summer day....
And gathering the neighborhood friends on Anna's "hill" by the big puddle in the Dirt Road Alley...for a few games of Red Rover, Red Rover, Mother May I, or TAG...until the street lights came on,...or until our mothers calling us in! David, I will never forget you playing "Spin the Bottle" with me...not knowing what really to do, but there we sat in the parlor of your big old home, your mother catching us....saying Now what are you two doing in here? Pepsi bottle between us, blush in our cheeks.....innocence of our childhood.....the way it always will be.
Then going to different high schools you and me....our families moved away....from that big cedar tree....neighbors we would no longer be.......
Then catching up later in life, never losing touch of the friendship we would always share...Lung Fung Chinese dining, ...Jeep with the top off riding...until a storm would roll in...until another sunny day...when we'd take that rag top off again, and go cruising once again...listening to Metallica's "One", being your favorite song......and you would explain to me why it should be mine.....
You will always be my forever friend David.....my friend to the end.....often bringing me a lunch in the middle of the night, when I worked at Familian Northwest....you always looking out to take care of me.....always a friend...a sweet dear friend you will forever be.....I can't believe you are gone......this is such a bad dream......not meant to be.....I wish you to be here, for one more "Hoodstock" party......
