Marilyn E. (Fleming) Cosgrove, age 84, of Fall River, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Walter H. Cosgrove, Sr., with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Shepardson) Fleming. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Marilyn attended BMC Durfee High School, worked as a homemaker, enjoyed writing and listening to music. She was very witty and had a vivacious sense of humor.
She is survived by twelve children, Mary Mullarky of Fall River, Kathleen Cosgrove of Merrimack, NH, Helen Seavor and her husband James of Swansea, Rita McGuire-O'Brien and her husband William of Fall River, Charles Cosgrove of Westport, James Cosgrove of Wesport, May Stinchomb of Fall River, Geraldine Carr and her husband Michael of Scituate, RI, Ronald Cosgrove and his wife Melissa of Fall River, Gerald Cosgrove of Swansea, Maureen Cosgrove of Fall River and Elizabeth Cosgrove of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Barbara Kidling of Brockton; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Walter Cosgrove, Jr. and Franklyn Cosgrove. She was the sister of the late Thomas Fleming.
Her Funeral will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Holy Name Church, Hanover St., Fall River. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Burial in St. Columba Catholic Cemetery, Middletown, RI.
