Darrell Dean Wisemore, 93 of Gladstone, MO passed away July 16, 2017.
Darrell was one of eight children born in rural Independence, MO to the late Joseph Gomer Wisemore and Thelma Louise (Anderson) (Wisemore) Mose. He completed the eighth grade in a one room school house in Independence, MO.
Darrell married Helen Marie (McPherson) in November 1942, but was drafted into the Army in December of 1942. He was stationed in Scoffield Barracks in Ohau, Hawaii.
Darrell was discharged in 1945.
Together Darrell and Helen had two children, Carrell Dean (C. Frank) (Wisemore) Stark and Steven Michael (Marifaye) Wisemore Sr.
Darrell worked with Shippers Carline in North Kansas City, where he started off as a mechanic and worked his way to being a foreman before his retirement in 1986.
Darrell and Helen loved to travel, and were members of several Kansas City square dance clubs.
Darrell was very active in many Masonic Organizations as follows: Independence No. 76 AF & AM,
Scottish Rite of Freemasonry,
Kilwinning Council No. 19 Allied Masonic Degrees, Butler,Mo.,
Mary Conclave Red Cross of Consantine, East Gate Chapter 367,
Harry S. Truman York Rite College No. 167, Independence Chapter No. 12, Independence Council 49, Past commanders Knights Templar, Order of High Priesthood, Knights of the York. The Truman Club, York Rite Sovereign College of North America, Charlemagne Council No. 79 Knight Masson, Order of the Silver Trowel, Palestine Commandery No. 17, Knights Templar, Independence, MO. Ararat Shriners.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen of 68 years, his siblings Walter Wisemore, Norma Fields, Patricia Shelby, Clifford M. Jr. Mose, and Robert Wisemore.
Darrell is survived by his sisters Gladys McCracken and Nancy (James) Yearsley. His children and grandchildren, David Allen (Pam) Stark, Darren Wayne (Heather) Stark, Steven Michael (Peggy) Wisemore Jr., Kevin Kyle (Andrea) Wisemore, and four great grandchildren; Nathan Thompson, Colton Jared Stark, Steven Michael Wisemore III, Kira Marie Stark, David Kyle Wisemore, and Tyler Dean Wisemore.
A memorial service with Masonic honors will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home Wednesday July 19 at 6:30pm.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Darrell's name may be made to the Masonic Home of Missouri. 6033 Masonic Drive, Suite A Columbia, MO 65202.
