Wallace Edward Tate, of Apache Junction, Arizona, passed away on July 13, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Wally will be held on Saturday, July 22.

Wally was born in Fargo, North Dakota, to Elsie and Elmer Tate on December 11, 1943. He grew up on his family's farm in Hope, North Dakota. He graduated from the University Of North Dakota. He met his wife while teaching High School Industrial Arts in Michigan. They moved with their two children to Mesa, Arizona in 1973, where Wally worked as a machinist for 30 years.

Wally enjoyed traveling, and his travels took him and his family to Maui, Switzerland and Australia to name a few. Wally enjoyed woodworking, wine-making, gardening and hiking. One of his favorite places to hike was in the Superstition Mountains, which is where he built his dream home when he retired. Wally was known and loved for his kind and gentle character.

Wally is preceded in death by his brother Elmer Jr., his mother Elsie, and his father Elmer.

Wally is survived by his wife Jane, daughter Marianne, son David and Sister Betty.
