Suzanne Mary Pauni was born August 29, 1925 and died July 17, 2017. Suzanne was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Dr. Mathew and Anna Ruth O'Keefe. Suzanne moved from Council Bluffs to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and filled her student days with visits to The Sink and Chautauqua Concert Hall. Suzanne married Tovio Pauni in Denver, CO. Tovio, known as, Red, and Suzanne lived across the United States, including California, New York, and Denver. During their retirement years, Suzanne and Red split their time between Breckenridge, CO and Tucson, AZ. Suzanne was a painter, garden volunteer at the Denver Botanical Gardens, and avid skier. After Red passed away in Tucson, Suzanne moved back to Boulder permanently to be with her family. She spent her years in Boulder volunteering at the Longmont Humane Society and rooting for her favorite Colorado sports teams. Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband Tovio and brother Mathew O'Keefe. She is survived by her children, Susan Prentiss and her husband, Paul; Robert Pauni; Bill Pauni and his wife, Michelle; four grandchildren Amanda Prentiss, Elizabeth Prentiss Rao, Samantha Pauni and Will Pauni; five great grandchildren, Adam, Bridget, Ivah, Alexandra and Henry. Her sense of humor, love of ice cream sandwiches, and feisty spirit will always be remembered. The family requests that donations be made to EFAA. A private family memorial service will be held in August.
