Henry Alan Laster Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2017.

We're happy to announce that Alan Laster of Woodstock, Georgia is throwing a house warming party that he'd like you to attend one day when you are ready. After a decade of fighting and tussling he's decided he wants to settle down on greener pastures, and clear sunny skies. His new home is large and spacious, and offers all the amenities of a five star resort. He doesn't care how long it takes you to get to his place cause he will be waiting on you for however long it takes. Just make your way on down the road and someday you'll find him hanging out with his Uncle Ronnie and Grandpa Jimmy and his other family and friends who found his home before you. Bring beer and your favorite junk food, he'll provide the red and purple popsicles, oatmeal cakes and all his other favorite food. He will greet you with a smile and the remembered hugs you have no doubt been missing. His momma, Angie Laster (Momma Bear), daddy Randy Laster, brother Lee, sister in law Kayla and his niece Dannie would all like for you all to dress casually and join them for all the fuss on Saturday @ 6-9 pm and/or Sunday 2 pm. The celebration will be at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home 2950 North Cobb Parkway Kennesaw, GA 30152. We all look forward to seeing you! In lieu of flowers family is requesting donations be made to VA or his Go Fund me page.

Alan dang it left too soon. From the day I met you years ago in opening the target in canton. I knew you were a keeper. You were a great friend over the years. Im sorry we didn't keep in touch more. I know you are up there enjoying your days, no more pain no more suffering. You should be so proud of your mama. Shes an amazing woman and you were a hell of a fighter. You will be missed, save a cold one for me and ill see you soon.

Alan was my friend in high school. The last time I saw him was by chance at schlotzskys deli. We sat and talked for a long while then. He is a great person and was taken far too soon.

Alan was one of my closest friends throughout my teenage and adult life. We shared a lot of memories and good times. One I will always cherish is getting to tell him about his newest niece or nephew comi into the world soon. I was barely three weeks pregnant and the lines were very faint but he knew it was right. The day after he passed away was especially hard for me not only did I lose my best friend the day before but this was the day we had our first ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. I was a nervous wreck in that waiting room but then I heard a little voice that sounded just like Alan telling me "your going to be fine sis". Those words I've heard so many times over the years and wouldn't you know it.... we had a perfectly healthy baby with a very strong heartbeat. Alan was right.... we were fine and everything was okay. He always had a way with his words to make you feel comfortable and just for a moment stop worrying about things. I was very blessed to have him as a friend for these years. I hope your enjoying your time with my first angel baby and all those who have gone before you.

Alan was one of my best childhood friends. He was also a light in the dark. He was the true definition of a selfless man. He was always putting others before himself and had a huge heart. You fought so hard for so long to beat this but God had bigger plans and called you home because he knew you were tired and your work was done. I hope you enjoy your time in heaven and try not to talk god's ear off to bad because we all know you love to talk. I'll see you again soon.

Alan- you fought this cancer to the very end and you fought it like a trooper. Although we lost a physical piece of the family puzzle- you will forever be in our hearts.
You always had a smile on your face except when I wanted to take a picture! I'll miss that challenge sweet boy but I'm glad I was able to get a few ;-)
Fly high and pain free...I love you!
