Hogsett, Robert A. age 86, of Richmond, VA departed this life to be with the Lord and Savior on July 18, 2017. He has been a member of the Bon Air Baptist Church since 1970 and served as a Deacon. Mr. Hogsett is predeceased by his former wife of 48 years (Ruth-Ann) and his second wife of 9 years, Jean-Ann. He is survived by his daughter's family Roberta & Stan Lee (with Robbie and Michelle); his son's family Richard & Lisa Hogsett (with Adam Hogsett, Andrew & Alysha Hogsett (with Lila and Oakley), and Matthew & Sarah Hogsett); his daughter's family Rebecca & Brent Jones (with Tiffany); and his son's family Russell & Tanya Hogsett (with Alex and Samantha).
Mr. Hogsett grew up in Virginia and West Virginia, he graduated from Greenbrier Military School and West Virginia University. He served in Korea (1953-54) as an officer with the 5th Regimental Combat Team RCT. Bob started his civilian career in the Westinghouse Air Conditioning Division and later joined Cargill Advertising Agency and later the A.H. Robins Pharmaceuticals Corp. headquartered in Richmond, VA with whom he spent 30 years. He was inducted into the "AHR Hall of Fame" as the Director of Promotional Services. He also maintained his support of the US Military by serving in the Army reserves for 20 years attaining the rank of Major and later helped organize the Virginia Defense Force (VADF) where he volunteered for 20 years more as Director of Public Affairs with the rank of Lt Colonel.
Viewing will be held at Woody Funeral Home Huguenot Rd., Sunday 23 July 4-6pm. Service will be held at Bon Air Baptist Church, 2531 Buford Road Richmond, VA 23235 on Monday 24, July 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the USO.org.
