Mrs. Mary Lynn Jethro, 76, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday July 19, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday July 22 at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston, with a graveside service to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Saturday at Biggs Funeral Home.
Mary Lynn, a native of Williamston, was the daughter of the late Robert Linwood and Dulah Coltrain Pate. She graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Education, and subsequently taught elementary school in Hampton, VA, retiring after over 25 years of service.
In addition to her love of education and her students, Mary Lynn loved to visit the Outer Banks, and spend time with friends and family. She also loved partnering with her husband Phillip in their woodworking crafts "business", traveling to craft shows all over the area.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Phillip Jethro, of Williamston; son Doug and wife Christy Jethro of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter Susan Jacobs and Donnie Brown of Newport News, VA; grandson (and light of his grandmother's life) Grant Jacobs of Newport News; sister Vivian and husband Hugh Smith of Williamston; and sister Judy and husband Billy Revels of Williamston.
