Elaine L. Crowder, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at The Cedars, Leo. Born on October 8, 1925, in Flushing, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Crist) Kent. Elaine was a homemaker and retired to Las Cruces, N.M. in 1986 with her husband, the late Richard Crowder. The delight of her life was volunteering at Dripping Springs National Park from 1999-2009. She enjoyed traveling with her son and his family having taken daytrips around New Mexico, Yellowstone, Ireland, hot air balloon rides, and a Caribbean Cruise in which she was the oldest woman to have climbed Dunn's River Falls in Jamaica. She is survived by her sons, David (Kay) Crowder of Leo and Dan (Carol) Crowder of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Pam (David) Hagelberger, Rick (Carmen) Crowder, Elizabeth Crowder, Jill Crowder, Jason (Jamie) Crowder, and Shannon Crowder; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Joyce Kent of Davidson, Mich., and John (Kim) Kent of Florissant, MO.
