Jerry H. Braughton, 71, of Hot Springs, passed away July 23, 2017. Jerry was born in Hot Springs to the late Bernie and Blanchie Brantley Braughton. His brother, Carl, and father-in-law, Bill Tyer, will be welcoming him in Heaven.
Jerry, arguably the biggest Lakeside Ram fan in the tri-state area, worked the sideline chains at Ram football games for more than twenty years.
Jerry was passionate about many things; senior coffee at McDonalds (with two splendas), woodworking, cooking, travelling (especially if it took him to an Allison Krauss concert), and his family.
Known lovingly as “Pop,” he was absolutely sure his grandkids -Connor, Cael, and Hailey Belle- hung the moon. Pop loved taking them to deer camp, cooking them breakfast, and attending all their extracurricular activities. His children, Tom (Karen) Braughton and Mindy (Sandy) Hawkins, will continue his tradition of frying turkeys, large family breakfasts, and quality family time full of laughter and love. His mother-in-law, Betty Tyer, will miss Jerry’s tireless humor and optimistic outlook on almost everything. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy, with whom he shared nearly 48 years of friendship, family, and faith.
The family would like to recognize with gratitude the caring staff at St. Vincent ICU and Christus Dubuis.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations or memorials be made to A.C.E. Closet at P.O. Box 21163, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71903 or Simmons Bank on Malvern Ave.

Oh my goodness, our Dear Church-mate, Class-mate and Working Partner...I am so saddened and shocked to hear the passing of my dear Friend of over 60 yrs. We used to go to S School and Vacation Bible School together. Our Prayers, Love and Sympathies go out to your family in this time of need and in the days to come. My Daddy said he was "such a fine young man and hard-working" as they worked for the telephone company!! May God Bless!
