Marjorie Jones Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 25, 2017.

Marjorie M. Jones, 85, went into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday July 24, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Marjorie was born on October 23, 1931 in Rockford, the daughter of Dwight and Welma (Kuhl) Tanner. She married Wilmer Jones on July 25, 1953 and spent 64 wonderful years together. Marjorie was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockford and attended First Evangelical Free Church with her family. Marjorie loved gardening, reading and sewing, especially clothing for her children when they were young. She enjoyed helping her husband in his ministry at the churches he served in as pastor.

Marjorie is survived by her loving husband Wilmer; son Dean (Mischelle) Jones; daughter Maralee Gray; grandchildren Derek Jones, Tyler Gray and Courtney Gray; sisters Irene Falconer, Marion Weiner, Carol (Don) Andrews and Lucille Wilcox. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dwight Tanner, Jr.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Anthony Molinari, Dr. Theodore Ingrassia III and the entire staff at OSF critical care unit.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, at First Free Evangelical Church 2223 N. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Condolences expressed to www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com

Pastor Jones, Dean and Maralee, my deepest sympathy for the loss of Mrs. Jones. She was such a lovely lady and I and my family are very blessed by knowing her and her love for Jesus. What a lovely mentor to us she was when you all were at Windsor Baptist Church.
May God wrap his loving arms around you all during this difficult time of sorrow.
Love always, Denise Brown Argyle
