George “G” Bourgeois, Jr., age 87, passed away on July 24, 2017 at his home in Metairie, La. Son of the late George Bourgeois Sr. and Mabel Ford Bourgeois. Beloved husband of the late Peggy Goliwas Bourgeois and the late Linda Stanford Bourgeois. Loving father of Lynn B. Hebert (Darrell), Leslie B. Ecuyer, Gerry Bourgeois and Mike Bourgeois. PawPaw to Matthew Ecuyer (Loretta), Kelly E. Habeney (Mike), Mark Ecuyer (Brittany), Mark Hebert and Ashley H. Montgomery (Ross). PawPawPaw to Katelynn, Brynn, Georgia, Kai, Paxton, Addison, Evie, Casen, Aeris, and Baylor. Loving friend of Dot Sekinger. Beloved brother of the late Alma B. Glaeser, Edith B. Gillio, and Marguerite Bourgeois. He graduated from Jesuit High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy on the USS Midway during the Korean War. Upon his return, he attended Southeastern University before joining Shell Oil Co. He retired from Shell after 33 years of service. He treasured his family and will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving and loyal father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. His final days were spent as he requested, at home and surrounded by his family.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the interment at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred.

One the Greatest Uncles you could ever ask for - Lynn, Leslie, Gerry and Mike we are all thinking/praying for you all...it is a very difficult thing to lose your parents no matter how old or how sick they are...the loss is still in your heart...I will always remember him saying...I'll take just a little taste....Love to you all,
