Mark Cecil Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 28, 2017.

Mark Steven Cecil, 61, of Platte County, MO passed away 6:03pm, July 26, 2017 in Jackson County, MO. Mark was a hard working loving man who raised 3 God fearing children, alongside his very loving patient wife, James, Jeff and Jessi. Mark and Deborah enjoyed 23 years of being each other’s best friends. Mark enjoyed being a very fun and caring grandfather to his 8 grandchildren.

In 1974 Mark finished high school from Winnetonka High School. He then went on to work for the State of Missouri for 27 hardworking years. Finally retiring in 2010, with many esteemed awards under his belt.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine M. (Ball) Neihouse and father, Sherl Cecil. Along with his son Jeffrey whom passed earlier this year. He will be forever missed and loved by his survivors including his younger brother Ed “Boob” Cecile and wife Jackie, his children and grandchildren. He will be forever in our hearts. I believe Mark said it best with his favorite quote “It is what it is”.

Service 2:00pm Tuesday White Chapel Funeral Home, Gladstone, MO. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Even before any of us had a boyfriend or girlfriend. Just 5 kids gettin' their kicks outa going to Riverfront Park and cutting donuts in Big John's Lincoln Continental with gangsta doors. Or racing at Dart. R.I.P., dear friend. xo, keller (gail)

I like Patti Summers, grew up in the same neighborhood. I think those of us that are around the same age, even though we grew apart. The childhood memories live on forever in our hearts.

In my life, I never didnt know Mark. Mark and Ed (Boob) were neighborhood kids in Chouteau Estates where we used to spend a lot of time in the street playing kick ball. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing - he will be missed by all that knew him. We all have crazy Mark stories he would laugh at with us - I wish we had one more chance to see him. RIP my friend . . .
