Gene was a one of a kind and had an unmatched spirit. His cheerfulness and wonderful sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I will miss bringing him apple pies from various farm stands on the North Fork. We had a great deal of fun and laughter trying to find one that matched his memory of the pie he purchased there many years ago. Rest In Peace, Gene. May the fond memories we all have of you keep you forever in our hearts. Peace to Margie, Genes brother, and his extended Darrow family. Love to you all.

It was so nice that I could have a chance to meet Gene last summer while my visit Woodside. He was funny and very easy to talk. Thank you for the good memory, Gene. We will miss you.
