LANE, Doris Belle Jacobs, age 79 of Beavercreek, went peacefully to be with her Savior on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 having been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor seven years ago. Doris was born on Oct. 23, 1937 to the late James C. and U. Nadine Jacobs in Cumberland, KY. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Earl Lane, and children William (Terri) Lane and Lisa Anne (Steve) Yaney, four grandchildren Daniel, Michael, Brooke and Bridget, sister Martha Ann (Wayne) Hisel and niece Heather (Tim) McKune. Doris was a much loved wife, mother and grandmother. She had been an active member of First Baptist Church of Kettering for 15 years. Prior to that, she was a member of Linden Avenue Baptist Church for 35 years where her Christian service included being chairman of the board of Christian Education, Deaconess, and leader of the prayer chain. She also taught children's Sunday school and sang in the choir. She had been a member of the Melodieres for 12 years. Doris was a superb mother, raising her two children with Christian principles. She enjoyed learning and traveling extensively. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. with interment to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the time of services on Friday. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.

Bill, We will always remember Doris for the Godly woman she was. Her faithfulness to serving God and to His church has served as an example for us. We will always remember the sweet smile that we saw on her face. We know that it will be difficult for you to not have her with you when you come to church. We thank God for your life and the life of your precious wife. We will miss seeing her. We will continue to pray for you now and as you face the challenging days ahead. Mike and Terry

God bless you and always cause you to hold the assurance of our heavenly home daily in your heart. My dear Ida Mae passed away on June 7th after a heart procedure.
