Douglas Stephen Lawrie
74, of Indianapolis, died on August 3rd. Born July 6th, 1943 in Indianapolis to the late John A and Ruth M Lawrie. He attended St Catherine grade school and graduated from Dear Ole Cathedral High School in 1961 where he received many accolades in sports. He went on to play football at Trinidad Jr College where he was a national champion. Doug worked in sales for most of his professional career but his passion was his wife, 4 kids, 21 grandkids, and his incredible "group" of friends.
He is preceded in death by His Parents, sisters Margaret Lawrie Schoening, Mary Antoinette (Toni) Lawrie and his grandson Douglas.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Karen (Anderson) Lawrie, daughter Jeanne (Ken) Farah of Fishers IN, sons, Judd (Wendy) Lawrie of Indianapolis, Col USAF Stan (Karen) Lawrie of Columbus MS, and Joe (Stephanie) Lawrie of Park Hills KY, sister Kathryn (Don) Delp of Indianapolis, brothers, Dr. John (Randi) Lawrie II of Newtown, PA, Chris (Libby) Lawrie of Indianapolis, Jeff (Becky) Lawrie of Morristown, IN and 20 grandchildren Emma, Blake, Rie, Grace, Wade, Isaac, John, Josie, Kathryn, Chris, Max, Judson, Nick, Maya, Xavier, Addie, Sophia, Anabelle, Seraphina, and Sam.
Christian burial mass will be Monday August 7th at 9:30 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church at 5353 McFarland Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Visitation will be Sunday August 6th 2-7pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
