Raymond "Chawee" Lewis Williams passed away peacefully in his daughter's home on Friday morning, August 4, 2017, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. He was 74 years old. Beloved husband of the late Ella Duncan Williams of over 42 years. Loving father of Christina Plaisance (Eric), April Stock (Steven), and Daniel Williams. Grandfather of Erica Plaisance, Christian Plaisance, Justin Stock, and Preston Stock. Son of the late Edward and Eunice Williams. Also survived by his brothers and sisters and a host of nieces and nephews. Raymond was a native of New Orleans, and has been a resident of Waggaman for over 46 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard, and retired as a Welding Foreman after over 30 years of dedicated service from Northrop-Grumman Avondale Shipyard. He was an avid Saints fan and loved to watch boxing. His keen sense of humor always sparked laughter, and generosity will forever inspire us. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Saturday morning, August 12, 2017 at 11:00. Unka Raymond.... what can I say. When I think of you I recall how handsome you were . Your life was full of laughter. I remember when you broke your arm when we were kids and you made Me,Rosie, and Cheryl scratch inside with a coat hanger while you sang Elvis and little Richard adding dirty words. But most of all thanks for being there for momma after Daddy died. You will forever remain in my heart. To your kids , they already Know what a good man you were. I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace unk.
