Lucille Readhimer Liner was born on November 14, 1927 in Monroe, Louisiana to Clarice Hathorn Readhimer and Tom Readhimer. She was the only girl of five siblings. Her husband of 43 years, Edwin L. Liner, her parents and her brothers, Cecil, Russell, Earl, and Harold have all preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children, Marilyn Kinney with husband, Clifford (Bud), of Huffman, TX; Barbara Boyd with husband, Jack, of Ruston, LA; and Larry Liner with wife, Susan, of Bossier City, LA; and three grandchildren, Jason Liner, Stephen Boyd, and Karen Boyd.
Lucille was truly loved by all who met her. She was gentle and kind to everyone, no matter their post in life. Her love for God, her husband, and her children was absolutely unwavering. Her Faith kept her strong when she lost so many she loved, one by one. She never doubted God's wisdom, no matter how much she wished things could be different. She was a devout member of the Church of Christ and studied the Bible until she was no longer able to read. She truly lived her life according to those teachings; and people were drawn to her, even when she could no longer verbally communicate. There was just a loving spirit about her that drew people close.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.

My loving Mamma L was one of the kindest persons I have ever known. Her thoughtfulness will be remembered by everyone who knew her. I can not remember a time that she didn't have a smile on her face. She will be thought of daily and forever in our hearts. Until we meet again know that I love you and miss you.

Momma - our hearts are broken that you are gone but know that you are with Daddy now and that gives us comfort. We love you dearly and you will be truly missed.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "come to me."
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

I treasure the memories of my best friend, Lucille Liner. She always had caring words and a sweet smile. Lucille had a soft voice, but you knew she loved you because you could see the love in her eyes.
Not only did Lucille care for me, but she loved and cared for my family also. she became their friend too.
Through the years, she shared birthday and Christmas gifts as tokens of her friendship and thoughtfulness.
Though we have not been able to talk on the phone any more, our friendship and love have grown in our memories. We enjoyed sending and receiving cards in the mail.
To her family, I send my love and prayers. Thanks for sharing her with me and my family.

Miss Lucille sat by my Mother at the dining room table at Brookdale Kingwood Assisted Living. My mother loves and adores Miss Lucille. She always had a smile on her face and a loving, sweet spirit. It was obvious that God was with Miss Lucille.God truly blessed my Mother by sending Miss Lucille into her life in her late 80's. I also watched Marilyn as she took perfect care of her dear Mother. Pure devotion and love for her Mother. I'm very thankful for such a treasure as Miss Lucille to drift into my Mother's life. God Bless you Miss Lucille.

I was blessed to have personally known Mrs Liner for over 50 years. She was always totally devoted to loving and supporting her husband and children in every possible way, in addition to her extended family and many friends,
She always saw the bright side of life and the good in everyone she met.
After she lost her devoted husband I was concerned that she might slip into a state of depression.
But when I visited her I was very happy to see she had remained strong and actively engaged with her many church friends, and was finding real joy in volunteering to teach the less fortunate to read.
Through her faith she is now surely experiencing true joy of being reunited with her loving husband in heaven.
She was especially blessed to have her totally devoted daughter, Marilyn to comfort her and remain by her side until she handed her off to be with her husband and God in heaven.

I have a lot of memories of Lucille but one that really spoke to her personality happened the afternoon I was moving my own mother's belongings out of The Waterford in Shreveport. I had packed all day and wasn't feeling well at all but I wanted to personally move several things I didn't want the professional movers coming the next day to move. It was hot, humid, almost dark as I struggled to pull a commercial grade wagon-type thing to my car. Lucille saw what I was doing and stopped whatever she'd been doing to help. She helped me pull that heavy, awkward cart all the way to my vehicle and wouldn't hear of not helping me. She was everything a Christian lady should be and absolutely the real deal! Her heart was always full of joy and happiness.

I became friends with Lucille as a result of her friendship with my mother, Dorothy Carroll. Lucille was such an inspiration. Whether she was walking by herself around the grounds at The Waterford to get some exercise, or excited about her Bean Bag Baseball games, or dressed up and waiting to go to church, I never saw her when she wasn't happy. Lucille was truly one of the best people I've ever known. May God bring comfort to Marilyn and the rest of Lucille's family.

It's so strange to be without you, Momma... But, I know your Spirit is here! It's storming outside, and a Cardinal just took refuge on my window ledge! I know you are here and now can be with us all at one time! =) That must make you very happy! You will be missed by so many, Momma! I hope you were able to know when your friends came to visit you on your last day, and the sweet staff members who came to say a prayer at your bedside after you had slipped away. Those were your most recent friends, and they loved you as if they had known you when you were younger and more able to interact! I'll miss being able to see you, Momma...but, I'll watch for the signs that you are nearby; because I know you will be. I love you so much!
