Peggy Hobbs Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2017.

Peggy Linda Paxton Hobbs, age 64, of Austin, Texas, passed away on August 3, 2017. Peggy was a longtime resident of the Austin area and attended Reagan High School. She married and had three daughters with Michael Robson. She later married Randy Hobbs and helped raise his son Rocky Hobbs. Throughout her life she held various positions for local companies and the State of Texas as a bookkeeper. Following in her sister's footsteps, she later became a well-known and beloved taxi driver.

Outside of her careers, Peggy was well known for her fondness of cards, dominoes, and bingo. Her quick wit and natural propensity for numbers usually led to her opponent's defeat. Her adventurous spirit often led to local outings and even world travel with her children. More than anything, she was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and any child that entered her home. Those closest to her agree that Peggy never met a stranger. She was always available to her friends, both new and old, and anyone who needed her wisdom. Her fiery spirit will continue to live on through her children, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Amos Paxton; sister, Cheryl Jones; and brother, Richard Paxton.

She is survived by her daughters, oldest daughter Taryn Nipps and husband Tommy, middle daughter Tamara Robson, and youngest daughter Tonya Robson and wife Adrienne Moherek; grandchildren, Savannah Yalch, James Michael Seiler, and Symbri Nipps; she also leaves behind her long time companion Mark Powers; brother Tommy Paxton and wife Angie, brother Mark Paxton, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of the children who called her "Grandma".

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on Sunday, August 13, 2017, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM, all at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
