Anna Wojtaczka Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2017.

Anna Wojtaczka, of Chicago, IL passed away at Loyola Medical Center on August 04, 2017 at the young age of 55.

Anna was born on April 22, 1962 in Chrzanow, Poland. She lived in Chrzanow during her early childhood prior to moving to Nowy Sacz, Poland. While in Nowy Sacz, Anna and her sister Margaret were raised by their amazing aunt Emilia Was (sister of Janina) as their mother Janina was abroad in the United States. At the age of 16 Anna met her future husband Bohdan as they lived three houses apart. They married at a very young age on September 20, 1980. She was only 18 and he was 22. Shortly then after they started a family and moved into a very humble place that they called home. There they raised three small children.

On November 22, 1990 at the age of 28, Anna alongside her husband Bohdan and three young children ages 9, 8 and 2 migrated to the United States of America to provide a better life for her family. Upon arriving to their new home in Chicago, Anna was reunited with her mother Janina and sister Margaret. Shortly after arriving in Chicago, Anna settled her family in the Avondale neighborhood on the Northwest Side of Chicago. There she raised three beautiful children Ursula, Kris and Jacob.

In 2005, after 15 years of hard work Anna fulfilled the American Dream of becoming a first time home owner. It is in this new home in Franklin Park, Illinois where as a mother she experienced the joy of watching her children reach young adulthood. Her daughter Ursula graduated college with a teaching degree, son Kris graduated with an aviation degree and her youngest son Jacob graduated with a degree in criminology. In her spare time Anna enjoyed gardening, decorating, reading and relaxing in her home.

Throughout the years our beloved mother took her family on many great vacations to such places as Wisconsin Dells, Poland, Florida and Canada where many cherished memories were formed with her family. Anna's last vacation was to her homeland of Poland in 2015 with her husband. There she was able to reunite with family and friends that she had not seen in many years. In 2016, Anna became a proud grandmother of her first grandson Eliam. In May of 2017, Anna became the proud grandmother of her second grandson Elias. During the last years of her life, spending time with her beloved grandsons brought her tremendous joy and happiness, filling her heart with strength, love and joy. She was the greatest grandmother a grandchild could ever ask for.

Anna is survived by her husband, Bohdan Wojtaczka of 37 years; 1 daughter Ursula Wojtaczka; 2 sons, Krzysztof and Jacob Wojtaczka; 2 grandsons, Eliam and Elias Ruiz. She is also survived by her mother Janina Zielinski; and 1 sister Margaret Habayeb. She was preceded in death by her father Tadeusz Pabis.

Above all Anna was a loving wife, mother, grandma, daughter and sister. Although you are now resting in heaven and no longer with us on this earth, the joy and happiness you brought us throughout your life will always be remembered and cherished throughout ours. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us home one by one the chain will link again.

May you rest in peace in God's hands forever.

Jason and Cherish Goldman

To the Wojtaczka Family,
Although I had not met Anna, I am a colleague of her daughter, Ursula. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, as you remember the good times and the laughter you shared with your mother! Knowing you Ursula, I'm inferring that your mom passed on to you, her caring and loving nature, her hard work, and her loyalty to family! May you remember those qualities that helped shape you, that she may have instilled in you!
With love, Jason and Cherish Goldman
