ELDA E. BRAUN-SMITH, 94, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born June 18, 1923, in Hoagland, IN, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Emelia Witte. She married Herbert Braun in 1941; he passed away in 1975. She then married Clyde Smith in June of 1995; he passed away in August of 2005. She is survived by her sons, Edwin (Edna) Braun, Jim (Marge) Braun, Allen (Marcia) Braun and daughter Marilyn (Mitch) Nofziger. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also Surviving are a sister, Vera Merica; and a brother, Glen Witte. She was also preceded in death by a grandson; brothers, Herbert and Harold Witte; and sister, Arvada Waterson. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 West Jefferson Blvd., with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
