COLUMBIA - Edward F. Buchmann, 81, entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Hope Lutheran Church, Irmo.
Ed was born January 16, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI. He was a faithful member of Hope Lutheran Church for more than 40 years. He served in the US Army and was retired from both BellSouth and the U.S. Postal Service. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Harriet Pfeiffer Buchmann and daughter, Linda J. Buchmann.
Survivors include his daughters, Wendy Dukes (David) and Lori Denter (Shawn); sons, Terry Buchmann (Ashley) and Jeff Buchmann (Doran); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hope Lutheran Church, 1400 Kennerly Road, Irmo, SC 29063.

I have many fond memories of working with Ed at BellSouth. I always felt that I could rely on him to do a thorough job as well as be a good friend. I am sorry that I was not able to be at his memorial service and to be around his great family. My thoughts and prayers are with them all.
