Services for James Henry Leifester, 90, of Killeen will be at the Trinity Baptist Church at 11am Tuesday August 15th at Harker Heights with the Rev. David Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
James Henry died August 9th at Concho Health & Rehabilitation Center in Eden, TX. Henry was born July 11, 1927 in Junction, TX., to Henry and Bertha Leifester. He was retired from Civil Service and Killeen Independent School District.
During the early days of the Killeen Boys Club, Henry volunteered his knowledge of his two favorite sports; boxing and football. He spent many hours on the road driving the boxing team to matches over the State of Texas with his two sons Cecil and Roy Dale, along with the other team members. He was a life long charter member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3892 in Harker Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Alice, one son Henry Ferrell, four sisters Ada Brizendine, Novine Heathcott, Patsy Decker and Glenda Castell.
He is survived by a daughter Alice Smith of Whitesboro, TX., two sons, Cecil and Roy Dale both of Killeen; one sister Carlita Fox, two brothers, George and Winston Leifester; 6 grandchildren and 7great grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 Monday, August 14th at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
