Bernice and Wesley Stringfellow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 14, 2017.

Bernice A. Stringfellow passed away August 12, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 85.

Bernice was born on June 25, 1932 in Crosby, Texas to Frank and Katherine Jenkins. She graduated from John H. Reagan High School. Bernice worked at Kaplan's Ben Hur during high school. After graduating high school, Bernice attended Massey Business College and worked several office clerical jobs, the longest being at Hollywood Cemetery. Bernice married Wesley O. Stringfellow Jr. on January 14, 1956.

Bernice preceded her loving husband, Wesley O. Stringfellow Jr., of 61 ½ years by 40 hours. Bernice was never very far from her husband's side and always showed the utmost love and patience with him in the last few years while he was battling Alzheimer's.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Nancy Moerbe and Frankie Barnes.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Tricia Stringfellow; and her grandchildren Claire and Grant Stringfellow, as well as numerous nieces and nephew.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the American Heart Association.

Dear Wes & Tricia, it's been many years since we've seen each other. I was very saddened to hear the news of both your parents passing. Take comfort that they are together in death as they were in life and are in the glorious presence of our Lord. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your family in the days ahead.

Wesley and Bernice were great Lazybrook neighbors. I remember them sitting in their lawn chairs on their driveway and waving to cars/neighbors passing by. Jackson and I would visit with them there occasionally. I enjoyed their lively conversations. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
