Jean Fleming Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 17, 2017.

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Elva “Jean” Fleming, 83, of Hot Springs passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born January 21, 1934 to Albert and Faye Stone.

Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had been retired for over 20 years. She was a devoted wife to her late husband of 66 years, Mr. Ray Fleming and a wonderful mother. She was known for her beautiful smile and her wonderful cooking. Mom always loved having a beautiful yard and living on Lake Hamilton. She enjoyed “talking”, cooking, shopping, and she never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her eldest son, Jimmy Ray Fleming; her brother, Ezra Stone, sisters, Edith Sipe, Eva Bell Spargo, Evelyn Brock, and Edna Mae Merchant.

Loving survivors include one son, Billy Jack Fleming; two daughters and sons-in law, Pat and George Stasick of Plano, Texas and Tammie and Doug Bloomer of Prosper, Texas; one sister in-law, Shirley Fleming of Dardanelle; eight grandchildren, John Stasick and his wife Nicole, Shelly Stasick, Tonya Fleming, Nikki Woods and her husband Carl, Tiffany Dickson, Justin Bloomer, Alyson Bloomer, and Reid Bloomer; eight Great-grandchildren, Megan and Colin Stasick, Taylor ,Brandon, and Jake Cambre, Malin and Adam Dickson and Brody Woods; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends that will deeply miss her.

A celebration of Jean’s Life will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, August 18th, 2017 in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM until service time.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are George Stasick, Doug Bloomer, John Stasick, Larry Griffith, and Eddie Spargo.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff of Total Hospice and Palliative care, all of her friends, and staff of The Cottages at Chapel Creek for the love and care given to momma Jean.

Linda & Rosie Roseberry's

Jean and Ray were wonderful neighbors. We are sorry to learn of her passing. I will always remember her running around the block, sharing goodies and hugs, finding out about our day. I remember her at Walmart but her Dillards day were the funniest. I think she bought more than she made & had a whole bedroom to keep it in. Come see what I got, you need one. Jean's green beans were the best. she was just a loving, fun person. We are thinking of you all.
